Global Warming or Global Warning?
November 3rd, 2009 by web zesty

gw1“Hey! You left me with a boat atleast, you all will be under water soon.”

Enough on Indian politics I guess and Tharoor’s Cattle-class tweeter.

Sorry for  this delayed post, as we had  Diwali in India last week and one of my aunt expired, not because of Global warming yet. She was old and 85years, hope we all can live that long and well. I travelled to Rishikesh and returned y’day only. I promised at least one post every week if not more, so I will make up for it.  I wanted to write about Diwali, but I guess Global warming is hotter subject than this, and since I write instant, I could not but help this post graduating from Diwali to Global warming, which concerns more than Diwali concerns.

Diwali, a big festival for Indians and famously called festival of lights, or should I say festival of crackers. Is this any global warming issue or would it be an energy guzzler subject, pollution and waste of money and do we have any austerity self introspection need? Austerity issue with politicians, yes we fall for easy criticism of others and when it comes to self, we all are culprits individually and GW is the sum of cumulative ills rather than just the developed or developing world subject. Who contribute most and who should restrain much is a worth less debate, in case we have to address the problem seriously? We all must rise to the occasion equally. Global warming is a life style ill and the developed nations have been highly contributing to it therefore. Countries like India, barring the one Diwali festival, had hardly the means in the earlier centuries to have afforded the home appliances, industry, etc of the magnitude the developed nations were used to long ago, that they could hardly contribute to the co2 emissions that the developed nations were producing day in and day out and for centuries together. Christmas in the western world, is the festival lights too and lasts much longer than Diwali in India. Here alone the western world scores much higher in terms of Global warming, incase Diwali is singled out as a blame feature. So all said and done, US the richest of all the world economies has the maximum brunt given to Global warming of the earth. And will it not be richest in the nuclear arsenal, be it for army or peace purposes? And, it seems cries the maximum to others to restrain the stock pile, restrict the use and to reduce co2 emissions. Wow? This is called autocratic ways or “Dadagiri”(have you heard of ‘Gandhigiri’?). This is exactly the antonym of the later in Hindi, in english it is called musclepowerabuse.

I have nothing against the US and the developed nations, but they must come forward to contribute voluntarily towards reducing the co2 emission levels in their respective citadels and proportionately. “Global warming reduction need is urgent” is the message which must spread and get across to every house hold ear and must be acted upon by every pair of hands in as much the same way as we used them to create the ill. Gandhigiri and Dadagiri will not help, dear Mr. Manmohan singh and Obama Nobel sir. Be willing to act respectively and proportionately, but urgent at the same time. Debates should and must come down, for we have no time to lose in this. It is time for action and not debates, the world leaders must realize.

Soon, more on global warming. And my next post is on travel from Rishikesh to Delhi, a daymare( an antonym for nightmare).

To compliment my posts you must read my exclusive blogs at www.vijaymalhotra.com, and if you like them, I request readers to encourage me with comments,PLEASE!
